The protaginist in this story is gregs parents because they ruin his relaxation by bringing him on a boring "educational"trip
The antagonist is greg and rodrick because they want to get away from this boring trip
the story is mainly about how gregs parents want to go on this "amazing" trip even though they pack flash cards as DESSERT i mean who makes a ROAD TRIP EDUCATIONAL ON A SUMMER VACATION and gregs parents dont want to take in any ideas from greg or rodrick even though greg had an amazing idea about an rv but his mom said no beacause it has horrible gas mileage but in the end they end up getting home safely.
